Ancient Chinese texts record the use of astragalus for tonifying the spleen, blood, and chi. Astragalus contains saponins, sterols, flavonoids, isoflavones, and polysaccharides that have health-promoting benefits. Astragalus root may stimulate the immune system in many ways.
